HBCUs to receive campus improvement grants through Home Depot’s Retool Your School program
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Home Depot is kicking off its 15th year of the Retool Your School program.
This year, the program is expected to give out over $10 million in financial support to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The program is meant to empower students at HBCUs nationwide by supporting campus renovations and resources, with a focus on career development such as internships, scholarships, community projects, and “innovation lounges.”
The voting-based program invites the public to vote for their favorite schools. Schools with the most votes will receive grants ranging from $40,000 to $150,000 per school.
Voting opens Monday, Feb. 26, and ends Sunday, March 24. You can vote for your favorite HBCU again each day until voting closes.
