Animal rights advocates protest horseracing

AT THE LAUREL PARK RACETRACK THIS AFTERNOON, PROTESTING THE DEATHS OF HORSES AT MARYLAND TRACKS. THE GROUP IS CALLED HORSE RACING WRONGS AND CLAIMS THAT 27 HORSES WERE KILLED RACING LAST YEAR. Animal rights advocates cite horse deaths in protest against racing

Horse and animal rights advocates gathered Saturday afternoon at Laurel Park to protest deaths of horses at Maryland racetracks.The group “Horseracing Wrongs” claims 27 horses were killed racing last year.”What it comes down to is there’s no humane way to abuse an animal, and horseracing is animal abuse. So, we are here today and every day moving forward to end horseracing,” said Jennifer Sully, the Maryland organizer of Horseracing Wrongs.Horseracing Wrongs said no laws were broken in the horse deaths.
