New Petitions to Sign This Week: Tell States to Ban the Sale of Cosmetics Tested on Animals, Justice for Dog Who Had Their Face Stomped On, Urge Congress to Enshrine Abortion Rights in the Constitution, and More!

Unfortunately, the world is not a very peaceful or safe place for many individuals. From conflict to abuse to exploitation, there is so much cruelty inflicted on both humans and animals. While this can get disheartening and difficult to hear, petitions are a great way to use your voice for good. Just by signing one, you are a part of helping those who are not treated fairly. You can even share them with friends and acquaintances to increase your impact.

Through petitions, we can reach those in power and demand justice for others. They are valuable tools for making positive changes in the world. If you are looking for a way to help animals and humans, here are six petitions you should sign this week, including Tell States to Ban the Sale of Cosmetics Tested on Animals, Justice for Dog Who Had Their Face Stomped On, and Urge Congress to Enshrine Abortion Rights in the Constitution.

We want to thank you for being the change you wish to see in the world and giving a voice to the voiceless.

1. Tell Barbados to Enforce Stricter Rules Against Animal Abuse

In the beautiful country of Barbados and across the Caribbean, a heart-wrenching issue persists, casting a shadow over vibrant communities. Despite the efforts of dedicated individuals and groups working tirelessly to protect our animal companions, the enforcement of animal abuse legislation remains sadly weak. Recently, the case of a young man receiving a light punishment for killing his dog has sparked outrage and a renewed call for justice. Local activists say that this is not an isolated incident but a symptom of a broader, deep-seated problem that plagues the Caribbean islands.

Please sign this petition to demand the Barbados Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security enforce stricter rules and regulations against animal abuse!

2. Tell Congress to Close Loophole that Allows Rodeos to Abuse Animals

The Tucson Rodeo opened on Saturday, February 17 for the start of its 99th year – heralding the renewed practice of shocking animals with electric prods, all for human entertainment.

5,000 to 6,000 volts of electricity run through the electric shock devices, which humans then apply to bulls and horses specifically to inflict pain and distress. The agony from these electric bolts running through their systems sends the animals into a state of terror and panic, leading them to run and dart around in the rodeo arenas.

Even the company that produces these electric prods, called Hot-Shot, opposes this practice. The company condemned this cruelty, saying: “Any use for entertainment purposes is not something we Support or condone.”

Please sign this petition to demand the U.S. Congress close the loophole that currently allows rodeos throughout the country to intentionally and routinely abuse animals!

3. Tell States to Ban the Sale of Cosmetics Tested on Animals

Imagine being a tiny rabbit, guinea pig, mouse, or rat, experiencing unbearable pain for the sake of beauty products like shampoo or mascara. Last week, Washington State made a huge leap forward for compassion by banning the sale of cosmetics tested on these innocent animals. It’s a call to action for the rest of the country: it’s time to stop this unnecessary cruelty.

Please sign this petition to urge all U.S. states to follow Washington’s lead!

4. Justice for Dog Who Had Their Face Stomped On and Kicked

A man in North Carolina has been arrested for stomping on and kicking a dog’s head and face. Luckily, someone called authorities after they heard the dog’s anguish and pain. When authorities arrived, they found the dog bleeding, bruised, and with head trauma.

Please sign this petition to demand that this man be banned from living with animals!

5. Tell the Iranian Government to Pass Laws Protecting Animals from Cruelty

Taking one look at a picture of Sudi the dog is all it takes to know she has suffered immensely. Sudi was a victim of animal cruelty and torture so horrific that it left her without her front limbs, back toes, ears, and tail.

Beneath the surface, the sweet pup also suffered from a broken hip after being dragged from the back of a truck, leaving her with a single working leg. What did Sudi do to deserve such malice? Allegedly, her owner didn’t think she was doing a good job as a farm dog. So he cut her limb from limb.

Please sign this petition if you want to see the Iranian Government pass laws protecting animals from cruelty!

6. Urge Congress to Enshrine Abortion Rights in the Constitution

The recent decision to stop providing emergency contraceptives at Olivia Rodrigo’s concerts has brought a critical issue to the forefront: our young people are being caught in the crossfire of misinformation and extreme views on reproductive rights. Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, it’s more important than ever to ensure our youth have access to the healthcare they deserve, including abortion and emergency contraception like Plan B. These are not just optional services; they are essential aspects of healthcare, offering safety, legality, and necessary Support for many.

Please sign this petition if you want to see Congress enshrine abortion rights in the US Constitution!
