The Future of Buffalo Go Green’s New Holistic Wellness & Agricultural Education Campus, conversation with Allison DeHonney and Marilyn Rodgers
/
The latest Building Buffalo podcast features Buffalo Go Green founder, executive director and CEO Allison DeHonney, and Director of Operations, Marilyn Rodgers. In the podcast, we discuss the future of The East Side’s first-ever holistic wellness center (and campus) that includes components such as a new indoor food production system, including a hydroponic system that will provide herbs and vegetables to the community year round, a teaching kitchen, and a community building.
From servicing mobile markets to empowering urban farm communities, the new holistic wellness and agricultural education campus is not only a healthy food resource for all of Buffalo, it’s also a place to learn about the importance of urban farming and wholesome nutrition in general.
As an aside, please pardon our dust as we host this podcast series in a space that will occasionally have a couple of noise hiccups – a random sound of a drill or hammer. It’s the nature of the beast, in a city such as Buffalo, where everyone is busy working on a range of artisan projects.
For more information on this project, visit Go Green Buffalo.
And as (another) aside, on Monday April 8, during the solar eclipse, Go Green Buffalo will be hosting a preview event at their new campus – 243 Manhattan Avenue – from 2:30pm-4:30pm. This eclipse event will be part community celebration, part eclipse viewing party, and part meet and greet for anyone hoping to learn more about this sensational project that will help to transform the East Side, as well as all of Buffalo.
Now, let’s get on with the show.
