DIY Disco offers aesthetic cocktails, variety of crafts for all
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Are you looking for a place where you can make all sorts of crafts? DIY Disco Cocktails and Crafts offers that and more.
“I wanted to create a space where people could come in and create something unique, but also mainly they could connect with their community and make new friends and meet new people,” said Chloe McMahon, owner of DIY Disco Cocktails and Crafts.
Items to create include earrings, belts, art paintings, jewelry boxes, beer caddies, drink coasters and more.
“We have woodworking. We have polymer clay, we have cement crafts,” McMahon said. “We have a menu, it’s basically like a restaurant for crafts, but they can see how hard everything is and how long it takes so they know what they’re getting themselves into.”
DIY Disco, located on Government Street, offers an opportunity to sit down and create items catering to those who want anything from easy to medium and even a challenging process. Items take up to 30 minutes to even three hours to make, according to McMahon.
Now, for those wanting to take care of their finances, McMahon said the crafty business also focuses on affordability.
“So, our happy hour crafts are all less than $20 but then our normal crafts range from $30 to $50,” McMahon said.
DIY Disco is an 18 and over business, consisting of an alcoholic bar that offers cocktails on a regular basis and bottomless mimosas on Sundays. McMahon describes drinks as aesthetically pleasing and considers the drinking area a space that’s more than your average bar and the business with different focuses.
“Like right now, we’ve been doing like Taylor Swift trivia events, you know, and then last summer we did a Barbie event,” she said.
For those who don’t drink, mocktails are also offered and you don’t have to have artistic talents for the crafts. In DIY Disco, you can also find drinks catering to seasons, a rotating bar and craft menus.
DIY Disco is open from Thursday to Sunday. Reservations are recommended and can be made here. Walk ins are welcomed if craft sessions are not full.
