Local businesses aiding in opening additional disaster relief centers
The Salvation Army has opened disaster relief centers across Nebraska and Iowa to help individuals and families affected by Friday’s tornadoes. The Salvation Army of Omaha is relying on partnerships with local businesses to assist in its disaster relief efforts.Salvation Army Disaster Relief Centers are temporary ‘free pop-up stores’ where material donations are gathered during disaster relief operations. Sunday will mark the first time since The Flood of 2019 that The Salvation Army of Omaha has opened a DRC. The Brite Ideas-based disaster relief center will be open to those in need Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will have items like water, nonperishable foods, cleaning supplies, and personal-care items.The Salvation Army said anyone affected can obtain resources but must show a valid ID.
