North Platte Board of Education approves bids for HVAC upgrade at Eisenhower Elementary School

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – The North Platte Board of Education met to discuss several action items on Monday, among those items was a request to approve bids for the Eisenhower Elementary School HVAC upgrade.

The board members responded “aye” one by one, agreeing to pass the approval, 4-1.

“Over the course of the last three years, we’ve been working on upgrading some HVAC units or Heating and Ventilation and Air Conditioning units in the district,” said Stuart Simpson, executive director of finance. “Eisenhower is our last building that we are going to be doing with Esser Ⅲ dollars. We’re going in there and replacing six units within the building to control our instructional wing. Which is on the east side of Eisenhower Elementary.”

The project will begin on May 21, 2024, and end before the students return to school in August.

In other business:

  • The board agreed to extend the Superintendent’s contract for another two years.
  • Amie Albrecht, a Counselor, and Cameron Winder from the maintenance department were recognized as Employee of the Month.
