OUTLOOK 2024: Guthrie Theatre evolves into a venue for entertainment, drinks, dining | News

GROVE CITY – Now open six days a week at 4 p.m. and on Sundays for special events, The Guthrie Theatre hosts a happy hour Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. with half-price drinks. The kitchen is open from 4 to 9 p.m. daily, and later on weekends.

Every night there is a different food special, and the regulars know to ask about the “secret” menu. You might be surprised to get a nice slab of prime rib or the best lasagna or pasta dish and meatballs you’ve ever had.

March is kicking off with a big-time comedy show starring Kevin Whelan. Kevin began his stand-up comedy career in Pittsburgh in 1997. In the intervening 25-plus years, he has gone on to be a nationally touring comedian, opening for the likes of Dave Chappelle, Kevin James, Jeff Dunham, Hannibal Buress, Maria Bamford, and Greg Giraldo, just to name a few.

Kevin’s material comes from his life, the world in which we live, and strange hypothetical situations that he’d like to see come to fruition. His act ranges from squeaky clean to R-rated club sets, depending on what the event calls for.

Other upcoming events:

• The movie Cabrini will be shown on the 7th and 8th of March at 7 p.m. and on the 10th at 2 p.m.

• On March 9, The Guthrie will host an ‘80s dance party starring The Remedy.

• On March 23, national touring band Silver Springs will perform “A Fleetwood Mac Experience,” which is certain to sell out.

Contact The Guthrie Theatre if your business is interested in sponsoring or advertising at any of their events. Check out The Guthrie on Facebook and at theguthrietheatre.com and be a part of bringing a little bit of Vegas to Grove City.
