Webb Spartans vs. Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals

Webb won against Grace Christian Academy last Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Webb Spartans came out on top against the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals by a score of 13-8. Webb had a rough season last year, but they look ready to turn that poor record around this year.

Malea Breeden was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Breeden was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Jeneva Mitchell was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sophie Silvan, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

On Eagleton College & Career Academy’s side, Paisley Bales was cooking despite her team’s loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Ali Campbell was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Webb has been performing well recently as they’ve won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Webb will head out on the road to challenge Knoxville Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sevier County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
