Woman gets fired after telling McDonald’s employee to ‘get a career’

A couple have gone viral for all the wrong reasons, leading to one of them reportedly losing their job.

I think we can all agree that fast food isn’t always as fast as we’d like it to be, but pulling up and waiting a few extra minutes isn’t the end of the world.

However, this couple seemed to believe it was and demanded a refund after ordering at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Alberta, Canada.

The man driving the car started filming the McDonald’s employee after an argument began, with the employee filming him in return.

“If you’re refunding my money, you have to give me cash,” the guy fumed.

The McDonald’s employee then asked if they paid debit, and he insisted that it ‘doesn’t matter’.

“If you’re not giving me my food I want my money back in cash,” he continued to argue.

But the fast food employee is then heard explaining that she’d requested some fresh food for their order and simply asked them to park up and wait a few minutes – not that their food wasn’t coming at all.

The woman in the passenger seat then started to weigh into the conversation and asked the female employee where she was from.

She said: “You’re in Edmonton, where are you from? […] Here we speak English.”

The woman proceeded to tell the McDonald’s worker to ‘get a career’ and ‘do something for your life’.

As the argument continued, the man went on to allege that the video he was filming would spark ‘a big lawsuit tomorrow’ as he threatened to phone his lawyer and sue both the employee and McDonald’s.

The female passenger then appeared to tell the employee to go back to where she came from.

While the man in the video boasted that he has 50,000 Instagram followers, the video has since seriously backfired on the pair and the woman has allegedly lost her job.

The viral clip was shared on the YEGWAVE X page, and the owner and manager of the place where the woman works at has since messaged the page to confirm that she’s been fired.

“My name is Marco and I am the owner and acting general manager,” the message began.

“We do not condone that type of language and she is no longer employed at this company.

“This video does not reflect the values or viewpoints of the employees who work here or the family that owns this business. All four of our grandparents were immigrants to Canada as well as many of our employees.”

He added that he was ‘disgusted’ by his ex employee’s behavior.

Marco proceeded to ask the page to pin his response and repost it on his behalf.

McDonald’s has been contacted for comment.
